Frank O’Connor

Co Founder & CEO

Frank O’Connor co-founded Airtel ATN back in 1998 and subsequently became CEO in 2002. The business was sustained at this difficult time as so many companies in the Air Traffic Control industry with the events on 9/11. From these difficult times he led the business into growth in 2008 with the number of employees doubling in 2010.

With Frank O’Connor’s extensive experience in ATN (over 25 years) having joined Retix as Software Engineering Manager in 1990, he has ensured Airtel ATN has been able to maintain its credibility.

He became involved in the ATN area in Retix in 1993 and in 1994, became responsible for Professional Services for OSI and ATN software development. Prior to Retix, he spent 4 years in CACI where he managed the Dublin office and was responsible for the development of simulation tools.

He started his career in System Dynamics, one of Ireland’s leading IT business solutions companies, where he spent eight years including two in Germany and The Netherlands. Frank has a BSc in Computer Science from University College Dublin.

Mick McKay

Head of Sales and Marketing

Mick joined Airtel ATN in 2017 to lead commercial and marketing activity. He has over 30 years’ experience working for innovative technology companies which have ranged from Irish start-ups to large scale multi-nationals.

Mick spent 9 years heading up USA Professional Services function of IONA Technologies, Ireland’s most successful indigenous software company. Most recently, Mick spent 5 years as the Director of Operations EMEA for Microsoft.

He has extensive experience in leading Sales, Professional Services, Customer Support and Operations and championing Customer Advocacy across all business functions. Mick holds an Electronic Engineering Degree from Trinity College Dublin.

Una Nolan

Head of Engineering and Operations

Una Nolan joined Airtel ATN in 2015 and became Head of Engineering in 2017, responsible for the engineering team, product development, solution deployment and customer support.

Her career in technology began as a Hardware Engineer for Siemens in 1997. Una went on to work at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in London as a Test Team Manager and later for Bank of Ireland as a Project Manager.

Una holds several professional qualifications in Engineering and Project Management.

Siofra Oliver

Head of Human Resources & Quality

Siofra Oliver has worked for Airtel ATN for 9 years and has been the Human Resource Manager since 2014.

She has a degree in Psychology and post-graduate qualification in Human Resource Management. Siofra has led Quality within the company since 2015, achieving ISO Certified status in 2015.

Over the last year Siofra has led initiatives in Graduate Recruitment, Wellness and Wellbeing, Health and Safety, putting employee’s satisfaction as a priority within Airtel.

Jim Attley

Regional Director Americas & Asia Pacific

Jim has always worked very closely with the airline industry starting out in the consulting side with Parc Aviation in 1992. He has been associated with Airtel ATN for many years and has almost 25 years aviation experience across senior sales and marketing roles.

He was instrumental in securing the ARINC and Rockwell Collins accounts for Airtel ATN as well as expanding our reach in the Asian market. Previously Jim has held senior positions in the UK and US in Direct Personnel, AMT and WSI.

Jim has qualifications from Universiteit Leiden in the Netherlands (Institute of Aerospace Law), Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland and the Irish Management Institute.
