The ATN Ground Validation Suite

It provides an Airborne platform for the validation and interoperability testing of Ground suppliers of ATN Applications (CM, CPDLC, PM-CPDLC and ADS-C) as described in the ATN Manual issued by ICAO.

The Airtel ATN Ground Validation Suite is the reference interoperability system used by Eurocontrol in its Experimental Centre to verify compliance of ATN applications.

The ATN Application Validation Tools

Airtel's ATN Application (CM, CPDLC, PM-CPDLC and ADS-C) Validation Tools are used by Eurocontrol in its Experimental Centre to verify compliance of ATN applications.

The CM Air and Ground Application Validation Tools manage the CM-logon, CM-contact, CM-user-abort and CM-provider-abort services.

The CPDLC Air and Ground Application Validation Tools provide the following functions:

* Connectivity Management: The Validation Tools support CPDLC connections (CPDLC Start, CPDLC End and CPDLC User Abort services) with the possibility to handle multiple aircraft on the ground side.

* Protected Mode: The Validation Tools support PM-CPDLC.

* Message sets: The Validation Tools implement the full uplink and downlink message set specified in the EUROCAE ED-110A document with support for single and concatenated uplink and downlink messages.

* Support of Error Test Cases: The Validation Tools support error test cases including: invalid message sequences, invalid message identifiers or references, missing LACK and unsupported messages.

* Automatic messages: The Validation Tools manage automatic generation of messages with the possibility of configuring the transmission rate. This can be used to evaluate the robustness of the remote system (stress situation) and to check continuity of VDLM2 coverage.

* Log of events: The Validation Tools capture the CPDLC messages in a trace window (one per aircraft on the ground side) and all uplink and downlink exchanges are logged for further analysis.
