The ATN Router
It is an essential component in constructing ATN-compliant communication networks, interconnecting air and ground
infrastructures. The Router embodies much of the functionality of ATN and is the element which ensures the
world-wide, open, transparent connectivity characteristic of ATN.
The Airtel ATN Router supports the exchange of routing information for ground and air-ground systems. The ATN Router
is described in the ATN Manual, issued by ICAO.
The Airtel ATN Router is compliant with the ICAO CNS/ATM Package-1 Internet SARPs.
Airtel also provides ATN routers for the Aeronautical Message Handling System (AMHS). AMHS is the standard for
aeronautical ground-ground communication that replaces the existing Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunications Network
(AFTN).
Airtel provides the avionics ATN Router software for the Airbus' ATSU which was certified in 2006. Airtel's ATN
Router software was previously integrated into the Rockwell-Collins' CMU-900 in 2001.
